Of Weather2x Fans (and the Case of the Frogs)

This post has nothing, and I repeat, nothing to do with "loyalty". Although it's already March and graduation time na sa PinakaMababang Paaralan ng Bgy. Tonta, walang pondo ang school para pambili ng Loyalty Award medals. No sponsors as well. 

And so, let's get to business and talk instead of the weather (and the frogs). 

Don't you just hate abnormal weather conditions?? Yung hot and sunny sa umaga and then biglang dark clouds sa tanghali, and then babagsak ang ulan in the afternoon.. don't you just hate these freakin' weather abnormalities?! And guess what, some fans are pretty much like the freakin' abnormal weather. How?? Hmmm... 

(1) Former LT fan (let's say, former Kimerald fan) TURNED Solid Kim Fan (after the break-up) TURNED KimXi Fan (after kiligin sa mga KimXi shows/interviews/reveals), and BACK TO Solid Kim Fan (but of course! no KimXi projects for now kase) 

OR 

(2) Solid Kim Fan TURNED KimXi Fan (or nakiki-KimXi Fan perhaps) TURNED Xian Lim Critic slash Hater DISGUISED as an "I-am-a-fan-who-supports-Kim-and-all-her-leading-men" asshole. 

There you go. Complicated, huh?! But yeah, go online on Twitter and get amused with their never-ending tirades of (a) how KimXi fans are "supporting less of Kim and more of Xian on their individual projects", (b) how KimXi fans are "only after of kilig", (c) how KimXi fans are "wishing for Kim's new soap to fail", (d) how KimXi fans "are narrow-minded", and the NITPICKING GOES ON TIRELESSLY. 

And when (on rare circumstances) they get tired of tweeting about a,b,c & d above, they resort to (e) criticizing Xian Lim, explicitly or implicitly (for all intents and purposes). Again, the NITPICKING GOES ON TIRELESSLY. 

So, what happened to the "kilig-kami-thank-you-Xian-for-making-Kim-happy" fans?!? Climate change, global warming perhaps?!? Malamang hindi sa Marikina nakatira ang mga ito. "No Plastic Bags Policy" dun. 

But wait, we're not done yet with the weather disturbance. Let's go to number..

(3) Solid KimXi fan (from cradle to grave) who gets BIPOLAR whenever (a) Kim gets interviewed and asked about her personal life, (b) Kim OR Xian gets paired on-screen or does projects with other actors/artists, (c) promo articles "linking" Kim/Xian to other artists start cropping up. 

This fan has a weird case of "kilig today, gone tomorrow". Monitored ang lahat ng spotted moments of Kim & Xian, even going overboard on some occasions (too privy, too nosey). Going all gaga with kilig today and when a, b or c above happens, nagra-rant bigla and minsan tina-tag si Kim with baliw comments concerning Kim's new soap. One heck of a "what the fuck" moment talaga! Nakakaloka ang ganitong mga eksena. 

One thing, you have to realize that those spotted moments are NOT intended to make you, as a fan, happy, 'panatag' or supportive of Kim & Xian's endeavours. You have to realize that Kim & Xian's personal activities (together) are pretty much just that, THEIR OWN PERSONAL ACTIVITIES. If you get a glimpse of that (and feel happy and kilig), well and good for you. But know your limits as a fan. 

Okay, so much for the weather disturbances. Insert trivia muna..

TRIVIA: According to  the website 'Frog Life Cycle', "different types of frogs will have different skeletons and different teeth formations". Interestingly also, the site mentioned that "different frog types can be told apart by the calls that they make". But at the end of the day, they are all FROGS. 

No matter how rabid, level-headed, opinionated, smart-assed or baliw you are, you won't be elevated from your status as a fan (and yes, there is a 'fan' in each of us). So, know your boundaries. If you are a solid supporter of Kim or Xian, then promote Kim or Xian and their individual projects instead of resorting to nitpicking. What satisfaction do you get from finding fault with Xian or Kim?!? 

Likewise, what satisfaction do you get from your paulit-ulit insinuations that KimXi fans are less supportive of Kim's new soap?!? No sane KimXi fan would wish for Kim's soap to fail. If a fan chooses not to watch the soap, it doesn't necessarily mean that he/she is praying for the soap to die! Or do you need someone to spell this out for you???!!! 

Moving forward, let's see what the weather condition would be when Kim & Xian start doing projects again together. Would it be sunny all-year round or cloudy with occasional rain shower and thunderstorms?? Hmmm.. as they say, frogs love the rain. 

"Who cares about the clouds when we're together? 

Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather."

KimXi and the Week That Was :)

Ang daming ganap, ano?? And if you, dear KimXi fan, have your sanity still intact after a week-long "battle" with the issues (both may kuwenta and walang kuwenta) on social  media, then congratulations! Ang tibay mo.. you are already a full-fledged fangirl. :)) 

With fangirling, you take the good with the bad... and you keep an open mind all the time. Open mind syempre 'cos you need to understand where the jeje haters and moronic fans are coming from. You have to understand where these assholes are coming from so that you can politely tell them, "Thank you, I understand your sentiments. Now, fuck off." 

So, how do we make sense of all the ganaps these past few days?? Let's see..

1) The exaggeratedly blown-out of proportion gag show 'unfortunate' incident

No doubt about it.. this thing was exaggeratedly blown-out of proportion. And what do you expect? Of course, the anti-Xian earthlings out there are having the time of their lives... ride on kung ride on sila sa issue..now is the perfect time than any to bash Xian. 

And oh, who are these anti-Xian earthlings?? One good example: those claiming to be "Solid Kim Chiu fan ako..99.9%, 100%, 101% & I support all her projects, kahit sino pa i-partner sa kanya BUT sa Twitter and Instagram (since 2012 pa) halos araw-araw bina-bash, hini-hate, ini-insulto, tinatawag na kung ano2x ang ka-loveteam nya na si Xian Lim". *stones stones* Sadly yes, there are some Kim Chiu fans out there na sobrang natuwa sa gag show incident and who are bashing Xian like crazy these days. Huwag mag-deny ang iba dyan.  Alalahanin, hindi nagsisinungaling ang 'ibidensiya'. :))) Ang sarap mag-post ng screen caps, naku... 

So, how to deal with them?? Nothing. Ka-CHEAPAN ang mga fans na ito, sa totoo lang. Since Day 01, they do not like Xian for Kim. Kahit maging santo pa si Xian, they won't have a good thing to say about him. They would forever label Xian as "bakla", "user", "bastos". KimXi fans should be numb by now when they read or hear things like these hurled against Xian. 

And those people out there na nakiki-opinion lang dun sa gag show incident, they remain to be just that.. "nakiki-opinion lang". 

Do they know who Xian really is as a person? NO. 

Do they know Xian in the same manner as how Kim knows him? NO. 

Do they matter? NO. 

Now, time to ask yourself. "Should I still stress myself over this gag show issue?" 

NO.

Ganyan lang 'yan. One can only do so much. You can hope, wish, pray, campaign (peacefully) for the rest of the KimXi fandom to support whatever individual projects Kim and Xian have, BUT you can NEVER coerce/pressure people to decide on something which is to your liking. It's the same as, you cannot force the anti-Xian earthlings to like Xian for Kim. Hating Xian is 'a way of life' for them; so let them rot in hell nalang. 

With the solo projects of Kim and Xian, you and only you have the final say on what form of support you're gonna give as a fan. Follow where your heart leads you. Naks! :)) 

And this thing about questioning the "loyalty" of fans?? Get a life! :)) There are far more important things in life (if you have a 'life') than keeping track of "who among the fans are fuckin' loyal and who are not".

Loyalty-wise, what is more important is that "loyal si Kim and Xian sa isa't-isa". Yun lang. ;) 

3) Dealing with a "bruised" and "overly stressed" fangirl heart

Take time out to smell the flowers...hahaha. :) Take a breather, away from the noise of social media fangirling.  And dear, it's not the end of the world. Besides, your ship is sailing steadily for real. :) 

Highs and lows in fangirling are really inevitable. But, fangirling is not the all and be all of your life. And you are far more wiser than the jeje haters and moronic fans out there. ;) 

Remember, "to everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under the sun." :) 

Bride for Rent: Feel-good, stress-free film :)

A straightforward opinion on the blockbuster film Bride for Rent..

Bride for Rent is a FEEL-GOOD film. It seeks to make a viewer feel light and happy, long after the popcorn and soda are gone. If you are the type of person who appreciates simple joys such as laughing out loud inside the cinema, getting that tingly sensation from seeing two characters fall in love with each other and ogling at biceps and black under-shirts *wink*, then BFR is definitely queue-worthy. :-) And yes, the underlying values and 'lessons in love and life' depicted on the film would make you say, "This movie sure has depth." 

Oh yes, depth-wise, BFR doesn't really seek to deconstruct the anatomy of love and marriage. For a typical movie-goer (and there's a "typical movie-goer" in all of us), the plot, the script, the lines, the execution are not hard to digest. Yes, a moral lesson is delivered to the audience, but the over-all execution won't make you feel like you just had a scholarly analysis of love and commitment. You just get to relax and enjoy the Rocco-Rocky story and the transition of scenes without getting lost in translation. And that's how it should be, plain and simple. You just laugh, get kilig, cry a bit maybe, fall in love and again, laugh. After all, it's a romantic comedy you're watching and not some period drama or political drama movie (if you got the message).

Bride for Rent is a STRESS-FREE film. And there are several of us movie-goers who go to the cinema to relax and enjoy a good laugh plus an equal dose of kilig without racking our brains on the "whys" "hows" and "what ifs" of the film. Again, simple joys. :-) 

Do we want a Rocco-Rocky sequel? Hell yes, we do! Kim and Xian's big screen magic as Mr. & Mrs. Espiritu surely deserves a follow-up. ;-) 

Letter for Ms. Aster A (from a concerned neighbour of Mr. & Mrs. Espiritu)

Dear Ms. Aster,

Isn't it surprising?? :) Isn't it surprising that during the presscon you said to Kim & Xi that, "we will respect kung ano man ang magiging sagot nyo.." and yet you took offense with Kim's answer (which wasn't in any way offensive/disrespectful)??? 

Promise, inulit-ulit ko po (at ng nanay, tatay, mga kapatid at kasambahay namin) ang presscon video at sabay-sabay kaming napasigaw ng, "Isn't it surprising?!? Bakit may issue eh hindi naman mataray or bastos ang sagot ni Kim huh!" 

Surprising talaga, isn't it? :)

However, it's not surprising that most KimXi fans are of the positive & intelligent lot who'd rather focus on creating another Blockbuster for Kim & Xi instead of dwelling on senseless issues that are only as good as yesterday's tabloid trash.  (oopss!) 

And so Ms. Aster, to usher in a more bongga positive start to 2014, let us have a good laugh nalang and get all "young and in love" again as we watch Bride For Rent on January 15. ;)

Shameless Fearless Predictions for 2014 ( because KimXi is written in the stars) ;)

Of course, hindi basta2x matatapos ang 2013 without consulting our baraha and the stars para ma-sight ng bongga ang mga kaganapan for the year 2014 (yes, baraha and stars lang.. walang crystal ball). So, to the KimXilandia let's see what's in store for you this 2014 sa larangan ng PERA, PAG-IBIG at CAREER. 

But first, confirmed na confirmed na talaga that your personal life is strongly aligned with the "KimXi life" (according to the stars).. So, all the shameless, fearless predictions below are strongly KimXi-related (as in strongly).

Alalahanin, ang mga predictions na ito ay pawang gabay lamang. Pero kahit meron kang freewill, alam na alam mo pa rin na malaki ang chance na magkakatotoo ang lahat ng mga nakasulat dito (lalo na ang 25x na pabalik-balik sa cinema).

The 2013 Kim-Xian "story" of love & happiness (and why you'd wish to have a relationship like theirs) ;)

A lot of wonderful things happened to Kim and Xian this year. And in the tradition of year-ender "top picks", here's a round up of personal top 10 picks for 2013 which made the KimXilandia (and even some non-fans) swoon and sigh in "kilig" and admiration for this lovely couple. These are some of the things (stories, photos, events, sightings) made public (thanks to social media haha). 

Note: There were other spotted moments, events, kilig IG/twitter moments and interviews not included below that added to the love-filled KimXilandia 2013 journey. As fans, we do respect Kim and Xian's privacy where their personal relationship is concerned. And we're just thankful also that somehow, we were able to get glimpses of their admirable relationship through some of the things Kim and Xian chose to share publicly. And again, thanks to social media, bumaha ng spotted moments this year LOL.

#10 - Happy hearts yacht date
February V-Day found Kim posting a "I-look-so-happy-giddy-inspired" photo on her IG. And it was later revealed that Xian surprised her with a Subic yacht date.

# 9 - Spotted: Holy Week sojourn with Kim's family
With nary a single photo of KimXi together in Bohol posted on their IGs, the KimXi fans resorted to high-level connect the dots stalking tactics. And a novena was also probably said cos lo and behold, a spotted photo of Kim & Xian leaving Tagbilaran emerged online. 
And so yes, the couple spent Holy Week together at a resort (with Kim's fam)... confeeermed na confeeermed na confeeermed.

# 8 - Kim's 23rd: Tight hugs and promise ring 
Love love love and more love for Kim's 23rd. Photos of Kim & Xian hugging tightly sent the entire KimXilandia straight to seventh heaven. Too much happiness and love there. 
And when Kim revealed that Xian gave her a promise ring, we could only think of one thing: their relationship is for keeps. #surena :)

# 7 - The father & daughter reunion... and Xian's "meet the parent"
We were all so happy for Kim when she was finally reunited with her papa. Such an endearing photo of them together posted on her IG. And who's that tall guy, caught on cam, standing at the back? Her chinito prince, no less. Xian finally got introduced to Kim's dad. Ayiiieeeeee... *marry your daughter playing in the background* lol ;)

# 6 - Spotted: Xian travelling on his own (to Cebu) to be with Kim 
June this year, Kim's mom passed away. It was later learned that on day 01 of the wake, Xian flew to Cebu (on his own) to comfort Kim. Such a sweet beyond words gesture. Just goes to show how strong the foundation of their relationship is. #wanakomasabe

# 5 - Love already locked in Paris & Kim's sweeeeet birthday surprise for Xian :)
"And if the love fits let's lock it baby.." hehe. The lovers in Paris posted (separately) photos of them at the Love Lock Bridge. So, where's the lock and key of Alexander and Kimberly? Your guess is as good as ours.. ;)

And of course, Xian's 24th! Ikaw na Kimmy. Ikaw na ang most creative, sweetest girlfie sa planet earth. :) Xian posted on his IG the surprise birthday dinner organized by Kim (Kim gathered Xian's family, relatives and his close non-showbiz friends; Kim's siblings were present as well). In one of their Kris TV interviews, Xian also revealed that Kim prepared a slide show presentation for him. The presentation showed old photos of Xian and it came with a "theme song". Sweeeeet... :) 

And since patapos na ang 2013, nahulaan na ba ng KimXilandia ang song? Lol

# 4 - First movie team-up: Certified BOX OFFICE HIT
The first movie team-up of Kim and Xian is one for the books. Something a KimXi fan won't forget for the rest of his life (especially if you're one of those who watched the movie at the cinema for like 20 times pordalab haha). Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo raked more than Php100M at the box office. Even non-fans got drawn into the funny-kilig tandem of Alex and Sandy. *hands in the air, singing Magkabilang Mundo*

# 3 - First acoustic prod together and we all died in kilig 
Malakas mag novena ang KimXilandia. Plenty of answered prayers. One of which is seeing Kim and Xian doing an acoustic prod together. In one of their shows abroad, Kim and Xian played their guitars, sang "Magkabilang Mundo" and the fans died again and again and again. This acoustic couple sure plays beautiful music together.

# 2 - Star Magic Ball 2013 date night
The sweetest girl deserves the most romantic guy evah! 
Last September, Kim shared on her IG a photo of a guy holding a "Will you be my date?" sign. No caption 'cept for a smiley. She didn't tag anyone. And then one guy "liked" the photo... XIAN LIM!! :) :) 
According to Kim (Kris TV interview), Xian went to her house the night before the ball and asked her to come down cos of something he wanted to show her. And there he was, in all his cuteness (sure na lol), holding the "Will you be my date?" sign. 
*sigh swoon* You're one lucky girl Kimmy. :)
